Day: 01
Arrive at Siem Reap airport and transfer to hotel. Visit Roluos Group, a collection of monuments representing the remains of Hariharalaya. Rolus Group is one of the first major temples of the empire at the nearly Khmer capital of Hariharalaya. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit Prasat Kravan, a unique brick towers containing large wall sculptures of Vishnu and Lakshmi in the brick. Originally, constructed by a nobleman rather than a king. Continue to Ta Som temple, the most distant on the grand circuit, small but classic. The execution of the Apsara carvings are better than many late 12th century works. Finally visit East Mebon, a large temple-mountain-like ruin, rising three levels and crowned by five towers. The temple was constructed in late 10th century by Rajendravarman II. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
Day: 02
Breakfast at hotel. Visit Angkor Thom, the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, built from the late 12th century to the early 13th century by King Jayavarman VII and consists of 54 towers, the Royal Enclosure, the Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King, then visit Ta Prohm, surrounded by jungle. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit Angkor Wat, the largest temples in world and covers an area of 200 hectares and surrounded by moat and an exterior wall measuring 1300 m x 1500 m. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
Day: 03
Breakfast at hotel. Visit Beng Mealea, sprawling jungle temple covering over one square kilometer, located 63 km from Siem Reap. It was constructed at early 11th century by King Suryavarman II. (Instead of a tour to Beung Mealea, a trip to Kulen Mountain can be arranged at a supplement). Picnic lunch provided at the site. Visit Banteay Srei, constructed at the late 10th century by a Brahmin counselor under a powerking Rajendarvarman. It was loosely translated to citadel of the woman, but it is a modern appellation that probably refers to the delicate beauty of the carvings. En-route stop at Pre Rub (turn the body), was constructed in late 10th century dedicated to Hindu gods. This reflects the common belief among Cambodians that funerals were conducted at the temple. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
Day: 04
Breakfast at hotel. Visit Banteay Chhmar, one of the capitals of Jayavarman II(A.D 802-850). The city, enclosed by a 9 km-long wall. The sandstone structure,built in the 11th century and dedicated to the deity Avalokiteshvara, suffered significant damage during repeated Thai invasions, although many of its hug bas-reliefs, which are said to be comparable of those the Bayon and
Angkor Wat, still remained. Picnic lunch provided at the site. Return to Siem
Reap, dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at hotel.
Day: 05
Breakfast at hotel. Visit Ta Keo temple, plainly decorated temple-mountain dedicated to Shiva, known in its time as ‘The Mountain with golden peaks’. Visit Srah Srang,
picturesque baray opposite the east entrance of Banteay Kdei. Originally constructed by the same architect that built Pre Rup. Continue to Banteay Kdei, sprawling, largely un-restored, monastic complex in much the same style as Ta Prohm. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit Preah Khan temple, built by King Jayavarman VII dedicated to his father. It is a huge, highly exportable monastic complex, and served as a Buddhist monastery and school, engaging over 1000 monks. Continue to Neak Poan, a small island temple located in the middle of the last Baray, constructed by a Khmer King in the Angkor area. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
Day: 06
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Chong Kneas for visit the floating villages by a private boat. Cruise through the fishing villages of the Tonle Sap Lake to discover the natural splendor and old lifestyle of the country. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit Artisan d’Angkor, where it is famous for its traditional craft skills products are available such stone carving, wood carving, lacquering, gilding and silk processing. Transfer to Siem Reap International airport for flight to the next destination.
